Pulling a mussel

An interesting story in The Guardian explored the impact of wildlife on infrastructure, as a result of warming water.

In this case, the water is in Lake Geneva.

The increasing temperatures of the lake have provided perfect conditions for the growth of a mussel called the Quagga mussel.

These mussels have sought out the pipes which run into the lake, and allow waste water to enter it, and have started to block the pipes which in turn affects equipment.
